There are at least two types of sarsen at Stonehenge. These guys, a professor and a doctor, are going to fingerprint the debitage and the still ‘wild’ sarsens around and about south England to connect the dots.

One of the completed models I am to make is of the present view, naturally. But also two versions when it was in ‘disrepair.’
- One before the 1901 straightening of Stone 56 and
- another version around 1902 when long wooden props were placed around the outer circle.

So, I thought I’d mock up a fake view of the prototype model on grass, with fingers for scale. It reminds me that, of course, Stonehenge was built by giants. Some say under the instruction of Merlin, others just to play skittles.

Posted to the Facebook user group for my 3d printer Wanhao Duplicator 7. For them to “oh” and “ah” over. Most print games figures at around 50µ with faster curing resin.
Printer down
Currently, I’m adding a newer Nano Zero Stepper to my second printer. I’ve had problems with a new chip on the board, needed newer software, which was buggy and now fixed. But it seems I have a shorting problem. The NZS is shorting and crashing the printer’s RAMPS board. I’ve got to rewire, re set the NZS on the Nema motor…
Possible reasons for placement of Stonehenge
We already know that The Avenue is truly ancient, stripes in the underlying rock which align in places on the solstice axis. How they were made is disputed. But it doesn’t matter, they were there long before man walked the then tree-covered area.

Getting close to going live
Nearly looking perfect, next is to revisit the css responsive break-points so it looks good on mobiles.
And some more writing, but at least I’ve grappled the widgets into the right pages.
And the rubber man arrived today. More silicone and I’ll have the casts lining up for the vinegar dips, get that rust looking good.
